PESKY SHASKY'S

DING DING THE BELL RINGS! AND THE FIGHT IS ON!
If someone told me that JJ Pearsall pitched a 3 hit 11 strike out performance I would think that the Yankees were in pretty good control.......... HELL no
the Shasky's came ready to play and play hard they did! Lead off Hitter Melendez drives a single and scores after 4 strike outs from JJ with a pitch going to the backstop fence with Melendez on 3rd base and takes home with runner getting to 1st. Yankees Plate 1 run of their own in the bottom of the 1st and thats where it stood for 4 innings 1-1 tie SHasky's pitching keeping Yankee hitters off balance and JJ striking out batters to keep Shasky's quiet. Top 4th inning Shasky's get another run off a dropped Fly ball to the outfield and an e 3 giving the lead to the Pesky Shasky's. But the Yankees tie it up again in the bottom 4th frame. 6 inning Yankees get a 2 run single from Witalec, giving the Yankees the cushion they needed with JJ striking out 7 of the last 10 batters he faced! I tell you this the Shasky's played a great game and arent willing to go away easily, they will be ready to fight again on Friday. Good Game!!!! and is always a highlight when you have a Mike Hart sighting and was able to chat with him as well. ROUND 2 FRIDAY

It was a great game. For the Shaskys it was basically the Tony Melendez show. Leading the game off with a solid single to left against JJ gave the Shaskys a dose of confidence that helped us throughout the game. We had runners on base in 4 of the 7th innings, something we had not done in the past against Mr. Pearsall. Tony also went 2 for 3 and made a couple of stellar plays in the field including a back-up play at 2nd base - backing up first base on a grounder to third and being in perfect position when the throw was errant and getting the runner at first after he made a move towards second base. I have never seen such a hustle play in 7 years in the league.

It was great to hang with the Yankees and be in the game right until the end. Rich Cooney pitched a great game for the Shaskys scattering 7 hits and striking out 5.

JJ Pearsall can be a daunting mound opponent - I'm very proud of the way my team played tonight, one of the toughest fought games the Shaskys have ever played - and those games in the end turn out to be the most fun and satisfying kind to play in.
