Giants recover from Tuesday's loss vs. the Marlins with a win over the defending regular-season champion Blue Thunder.
The win gives the Giants a 14-1 record with two games left and gives the Hornets/Giants their first regular-season title since the inception of the division in 2002 (I think). Last year, the Hornets finished third before winning its first title.
Congratulations to Jim K., and all of the Giants/Hornets past and present, on their division title. Over the years, they have shown class and respect to the game and their opponents. It was in 2003 when the 48+ division was started, with the original teams being the Hornets, WhizKids, Marlins, and Veterans. Now, 7 short years later, the division has grown to 10 teams, with some great baseball being played. A big part of that growth has been due to the hard work of people like Jim K. As a player, manager, board member, commissioner, umpire, etc., he has done it all. Along with John Reel, the WhizKids owe them both a debt of gratitude in helping us to enjoy the game of baseball!
