Sunday afternoon, the Blue Thunder and Golden Marlins got together, in what could be a preview of a first round playoff matchup. The Thunder sent 35+ Playoff MVP, Ron Massaroni, to the mound and the Fish countered with red-hot Chuck Sohl. The Marlins jumped out on top early, as Tom Maney and Randy Craft singled, and Mike Girard followed with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. The Thunder would answer in the top of the second, when they would plate a run on a Tim Brown single, a fielder's choice, and an error on a fly ball to center. That unearned run was all the runs that Chuck Sohl would allow, as he scattered 7 hits (all singles), walked none, and struck out 3. The Golden Marlins would add an unearned run in the bottom of the second, two runs in the third and three more in the fourth to close out the scoring. Mike Girard ended the game 3-3, with 4 RBI's. Tom Maney would add two hits and two RBI's to lead the offense for the Goldens. The Fish swept the season series with the Thunder, 3 games to none, but the only games that really matter start on Saturday, 9/11, for these two teams. I'm sure the Thunder will be ready with their "A-game" then. See you soon guys.
