Maryland Tourney in October..............

The Chesapeake Mens Senior Baseball League would like to extend an invitation to you and your teams to enter our 11th Annual Chesapeake MSBL Columbus Day Regional Tournament October 9-11th. We have three age divisions open -- 25+, 35+ and 45+ (wood bat). We have outstanding fields, terrific umpires, and great competition. This is one of the last MSBL Regional Tournament before the MSBL World Series and MSBL Fall Classic.

General Information, Policies, Rules, and Registration Forms can be obtained from our website at http://www.chesapeakemsbl.com/columbus.php. Please make sure you submit all the required forms along with payment. Due to unfortunate incidents in the past, only payment in full by money order or cashiers check will be accepted.

We hope each of you will consider joining us again this year. We can only accommodate a total of 24 teams and will confirm registration on a first to pay basis. We have 8 openings in the 25+ age division and 8 openings in the 35+ age division, and 8 openings in the 45+ Division. However, we will adjust age divisions if as necessary. The minimum number of teams needed for each age division is 4 in which case each team will play round robin and make the play-offs.

We also have a hotel sponsor for our tournament this year that is located right across the street from our showcase baseball field Joe Cannon Stadium. The name of the hotel is Spring Hill Suites by Marriott at Arundel Mills BWI. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grill and the Arundel Mills Mall which hosts a Dave & Busters, Damons Bar and Grill, a 24 theatre movie complex, Bass Pro Shop as well as many other conveniences.

Please contact Kevin Murnane at 410-799-4394 and let him know you are a participant of our Columbus Day MSBL Regional Tournament.Kevin has discounted the rooms to $119/night (normally $189/night) which includes hot breakfast, free laundry, indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, and many other amenities. Each room has 2 Queen Beds, a pullout sleeper sofa, a microwave and a refrigerator. We will have our Tournament Headquarters at the hotel and have the Managers Meeting and distribute baseballs and other useful information at 7 pm on Friday, October 8th at the hotel. If you plan to attend the tournament, you should book hotel reservations as soon as possible as this same weekend there is a boat show in Annapolis and many hotels will have limited vacancies. Kevins contact information is as follows and the address for the hotel is also listed. When making your reservations, please ask for him and identify yourself as a participant in the Chesapeake MSBL Regional Tournament to receive the special discount offering:

If you wish to be removed from future correspondence regarding this tournament, please reply to this message indicating your desire to no longer receive tournament information and I will take your e-mail off of distribution.

We look forward to hosting your team in the Baltimore-Washington-Annapolis Area over the Columbus Day Weekend.

Played down there (DC area) for four years prior to moving here. They've got some really nice fields in the Maryland towns outside of DC (most specifically Shirley Povich Field in Montgomery County).

Should be fun if you guys put together a team.

I think ther is also a tourney outside of Philly that weekend too. I'd be in for playing either if anyone is getting a team together.

Jon,

Even if I put a 25 team together? I am looking into it with days off from work and financially. I will keep you posted.

Q - I don't discriminate - I'll give up homeruns to any age group!
