I would like to help raise money for the New Scotland & Satellite fields. So I'll run this idea up the flagpole.
If we could secure the Satellite field for Saturday the 25th, we could hold a pay-to-play day of baseball. We could go from 9:00 or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Players would pay $10 per hour to play. ($15 if they want to be on my team!!) Teams could reserve a 1 or 2 hour slot by paying $100 per hour. The event would generate $180 per hour. We could add raffles, cook-outs, beer drinking contests etc.
The event could be open to all age groups (wood bats only). Nobody would have to take a day off to play and everyone would get some baseball in for their contribution.
I would be happy to help organize the event. If members of the board like the idea and want me to pursue it, please contact me at ataball@msn.com or call me at (H) 475-9560, (W) 465-3377 or (C) 366-5531.

PS I'm pretty sure that I can get Ines Sainz to cover the event!
The Baseball Marathon is a Great Idea. I will be attending one in Connecticut in May. The MSBL there holds one yearly. They start playing at 7 am and play till 7 am the next day. Last year they raised over 20,000 dollars. Don if you would like to pursue this along with myself and some others your more then welcome.
If you wanted to try this fall with maybe a 7 am game to ? I am all about it. Then we can get some money raised for the New Scotland and Voorhesville fields.
The inital response to this idea was that it was too late to organize it properly and that the satellite field may not be available. Hopefully it is an idea that we can pursue in the spring when guys are gearing up for next season.
