Game 1-Jim Shook for the Cannons and Nick Davey for the Brewers arguably to of the most dominant pitchers in the 25 division over the last 3 seasons. The Cannons struck 1st scoring 4 runs early off of 3 brewers errors. Jim Shook was pitching lights out holding the high powered brewer offense to 1 run. The Cannons go on to win Game 1. Cannons-5 Brewers-1.
Game 2-Jim Shook started the game for the Cannons again and gave up 2 early runs. Chris Yager started for the Brewers and had the Cannons guessing. In the bottom of the 7th with the score 2-0 the Cannons score 2 runs to tie the game. The brewers bring in Game 1 starter Nick Davey who gets the Brewers out of the inning. In the 9th inning both teams score 2 runs and go into the 10 inning. In the 11th inning the Cannons score 1 run to beat the brewers 5-4 and move on to the championship.
(4) A's vs (1) Frozen Ropes Outlaws
Game 1- The A's sent their crafty lefty Will Brouwer to the mound to face off against the Outlaws ace big game pitcher Leo Primeau. Will Brouwer had pitched 4 innings against the Outlaws early in the season holding them to 1 run in 4 innings. Leo Primeau had faced the A's 2 weeks prior and gave up 1 run throwing a 1 hitter. The Outlaws struck early scoring 2 in the 3rd inning. The Outlaws added 3 more runs giving them a 5-0 lead. Leo Primeau was almost perfect scattering only 2 hits. The Outlaws go on to win 5-0 and take game 1.
Game 2-The A's send Ron Wood to the mound as he had given the Outlaws one of their 3 losses on the year. The Outlaws send Adam Anderson to the mound to try and seal the deal. The A's strike 1st as the Outlaws defense was a little shaky right off the bat. The A's lead 1-0 early. The Outlaws tie the game at 1. Then with the bases loaded and 2 outs Carlos Maldanado hits a routine groundball to 2nd base and Dave Guilliano is about to field it the ball hits something and shoots over dave's head into right field. The A's throw to 3rd base and the ball gets by scott clement and goes to the fence. The Outlaws score 4 on the play. The Outlaws then go on to score 7 more runs and win the game 12-1.
It will be the Cannons vs. Frozen Ropes Outlaws Best 3 out of 5 starting next saturday, september 25th. This should be a great series as both teams have dominant pitching, great defense and a stacked lineup.
