Darrell Duncan of the WhizKids and Artie Gianakos of the Veterans hooked up in a classic pitchers' duel, with the WhizKids winning 1-0. It was scoreless until one out in the bottom of the 7th, when pinchrunner Deane Fish scored from 3rd on a wild pitch. Darrell and Artie were especially tough with runners on base, putting the clamps on any potential rallies. Hats off to both teams for a well played game. The WhizKids relied on some great defensive plays and some small ball to their advantage, and even got an intentional walk. The win was the 6th in a row for the WhizKids, 8-4. The Veterans are now 8-3.
