Mon DH Vets/Hornets

In a Monday evening, that was filled with great anticipation, as the Veterans battled the Hornets. Tickets were not sold, so that everyone that wanted to witness this event could do so. I'm happy to say, everyone that wanted to come, were there. The first game featured the Hornet's elite lefthander, Don Boone, as the Veterans countered with their durable right hander, Artie Gianakos. Artie, for all his efforts, came out on the short end once again. A well pitched game by both pitchers with the Hornets on top 2-1. The winning run was knocked in by Jack Perry. (who??)
The fortunes reversed in the second game, with the Vets on top 9-4. Jimmy Dalton pitched 3 soild innings for the Vets as did Billy Kervan. Donny Boone didn't realize this was another game, and went back out to the mound to continue pitching for the Hornets. Hondo came in relief later in the game. A good thing---- even though there was considerable tripitation on the part of the Veteran batters, Hondo kept is pitches over the plate. ( relatively). It was a fun evening, we move on from here.
