Please join me in congratulating Shep for his election into the Albany Twilight league Hall of Fame!
`I played with and against Tommy in the ATL, I can tell you he was a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the plate. I am so proud to be your teammate Shep, I am thrilled you have been recognized for your stellar ATL career. (1982 rookie of the year)
George Rafferty, Chuck Sohl, Darnell Baker, and Ron Massaroni are ATL HOF members, as is Bobby Lane's dad Tim. (am I missing anyone?)
Mike Girard and Ted Poleto should eventually join this elite group.
Enjoy the night Shep, I hope we can get a crew out that night to support you.
The ATL banquet is Sat. Nov. 13th, at the Polish American Club, on Commerce Ave., West Albany. (close to Everet rd., off Central Ave) at 6pm. $30, dinner, beer, wine, and soda included.
I am not surprised other than how long it took for the vote for your deserved induction...no one tougher to hit than you...hell you weighed about 150 then:):) JK!!! ANyway I wish i could be there to have a few in celebration of your induction but we will be in Florida trying to win a ring on the east coast side of the country.
I appreciate Mane's comment about being inducted....I expect Mike for sure but i am lobbying for the IBS Softball HOF right now being Italian i have a shot if they ever have a HOF and i cook a mean pasta....:):)
Quite an honor Shep! Congratulations!! Teddy, Tommy and I will tip one(or more) in your honor down in FLA. Get healthy for 2011- The Cubs have more business to take care of.
