The Albany Blue Bombers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Billy Smith started the rally with a one out walk. Tom Maney and Tim Brown followed with walks as well. Ralph Caputo singled home Smith, and Mike Girard followed with a RBI fielder's choice. An error and a wild pitch plated the final two runs of the inning. The Triad Jaguars fought back for 3 runs in the top of the third, to make the score 4-3. Albany plated two more runs in the bottom of the third on a single by Paul Celantano, a sacrafice by Billy Smith, a RBI single by Tom Maney, a stolen base by Maney, and a RBI single by Tim Brown to make the score 6-3. After the Jaguars made the score 6-4 with a run in the top of the fifth inning, the Bombers got some breathing room by scoring 4 more runs in the bottom of the inning. Mike Girard started the rally with a single, and after one out, Ted Martin and Jon Martin walked to load the bases. Matt Kelly had a RBI single, followed by a 2 RBI single by Paul Celantano and a sacrafice fly by Billy Smith. The Bombers weren't able to enjoy their lead long, as the Jaguars plated 3 runs in the top of the sixth. Up just three runs (10-7) the Blue Bombers were looking for one more rally to put the game away. They would get that rally in the bottom of the seventh. Jon Martin started the rally with a single. Matt Kelly followed with a walk, and after a pop out to the catcher and a walk to Billy Smith, Tom Maney came through with a big RBI single. Tim Brown followed with a sacrafice fly. Ralph Caputo reached on an error to re-load the bases. Mike Girard then singled to plate the last two runs in the rally. Up 14-7, Jimmy Konstantakis came on in relief and got the Jaguars out in the eighth and ninth innings with giving up just one run, and the Bombers punched their ticket to the semi-finals with a 14-8 victory over the Triad Jaguars.
