We never thought we would get this game off,but the rains held up, and it ended up being a great day for baseball. The Vets came out of their hitting slump, putting together 15 hits for 17 runs. Joe Sarubbi had 3 hits with 2 rbi's, Steve Van Gelder had 2, 2b hits sending across 2 runs. Matt Leinung also had 2, 2 baggers resulting in 4 rbi's. Artie Gianakos had a well pitched game, going 5 innings, 4 of which he did not allow a hit. Mike Hart and Bill Kervan finished the game. For the Blue Thunder, they came back, but fell short. They scored an unearned run in the 4th, 4 additional runs in the 5th, and one more in the 6th and 7th. Good luck Thunder, see you in the playoffs.
Thank you Tony for posting this message about our game to the bulleting board. Very kind gesture. I could not have said it better. It was a terrific game to say the lease, but you forgot to mention the most unbelievable play in the game - and it was not any of those marvelous grabs your centerfilder made - KUDOS TO HIM. It was the play that ended an inning for us - it nvolved the grounder 8 to 3. Do you remember? Just kidding - hehehehehe - Good luck Veterans - see you in the playoffs.
