28+ Division Champs - Albany Marlins

First of all let me start this by saying I even feel bad for the way things ended the 38+ Championship. I feel bad for all the players that are class acts in this league and their "Big Game" ruined by the immaturity of a few. Congratulations to the 2005 38+ over Champions the Silver Marlins. I know most of you and to me, you are all class acts.

I went to watch the 28+ Cubs play on Saturday and knowing that if they lost would mean the 28+ Marlins would win our first division championship in 8 years. Of course, like usual, the Cubs won and put the pressure back on us. Again, on Sunday, not knowing if the Cubs were winning their game the Marlins had to go out and win against the Yankees to claim the division. The Marlins bats started quick with 3 in the 1st and 3 in the 2nd. The Yankees came within 1 by scoring 2 runs in the 4th and 3 in the 5th. The score was 7-6 Marlins going into the bottom of the 5th. John Kalinski came to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered a bases clearing (almost) triple as he used his 4.3 speed to get thrown out at 3rd. Huge hit! The Marlins pounded out 15 hits. Joe Fitzgerald pitched a complete game giving up 4er, 7 hits, while striking out 7. Finally, we are division champions.

TO THE CUBS - All you guys are class acts. I enjoy playing with all of you guys. Guys like: Girard, Mash, Maney's (the whole clan), McQuade, Poleto, Jacques, Ansel, Jonny Martin, Paul Madison, Andy Hoyle and if I forgot anyone I apologize.

Again, as far as Sportsmanship and Just playing hard the Cubs and the Marlins are 1st class. I've been running the Marlins for four years now and one thing you will never hear from the Marlins during a game that you hear from almost every other team is the whining about not playing, whining about things not going your way and fighting among teammates. Are Marlins team is very close and I'm lucky to be around those 13 guys for the whole summer. It's not because I'm the manager of the Marlins, but most any other team is the league can take notes on behavior and playing great, hard nosed baseball from the players that play with me every weekend.

Cubs...thanks for the fight down the stretch and good luck in the playoffs.

Jfitz
