Really enjoyed the new format for the baseball banquet last night. Two inductees did a nice job keeping the speeches short and light. Just a great job of organization and planning. Thank you guys for the enjoyable evening.
kudo's to jon martin, donny ball and their helping hands who put together what was a fine evening for baseball here in the msbl. lots of fun,and it was something we can be proud of. good job guys, looking forward to next year.
Well I guess I left yesterday in a nick of time, understand you all had some nasty weather.
I wanted to add my two cents about the banquet. It was by far the best to date and not just because of the HOF election. It was great to see so many familiar faces, I don't see many of those these days in Charlotte.
There were so many people to thank when I had a chance to speak but sometimes you fail to mention them all. I hope I don't forget anyone now.
I want to thank John Reel for starting this great league 20 years ago.
To all the league officers (past and Present) who have helped guide and shape this league.
The HOF committee for voting me in, when I see the names in the HOF I am truly humbled, all of them great players and contributors to the league success.
Congratulations to Ron Coon, I kept leaning over to my friend and telling him how much better Ron is at baseball. I am happy to be inducted along with him.
Jimmy Konstantakis for introducing me Saturday night. Jimmy was also instrumental in bringing my name to the HOF committee for consideration.
To my teammates/friends for showing their support (Bob Bolt, Steve Lounello, Chris Abrams, Mike Kane, Jim Whitford, Mike Lannon and Mario Arduini.)
Congratulations to Mike Lannon for winning the Jim Jordan award for sportsmanship, he truly deserves the honor.
To Mike Hart (one of the nicest people you will ever meet) for showing me a wonderful art gallery and restaurant on our trip to San Antonio.
Jon Martin, Don Ball and everyone involved in making it a great banquet.
I have so many memories to take away from the 16 years I played in the league. The most important is the friendships that will last the rest of our lives.
Playing with you or against you I have fond memories of everyone in the CDMSBL. I learned a long time ago that we are all connected by baseball. We all share the same love and passion for the little boy's game that we will never outgrow. Even at age 50 I love to feel a ball hit my bat. I hope I never outgrow that feeling and I hope you all never will either.
I must chime in with my congratulations as well! Jonny Martin and Don Ball did a spectacular job getting the great new venue, the outstanding menu, and entertainment that allowed us to enjoy the evening well past the dinner and awards. I have often said that baseball friends are the best friends, and this was a great way to enjoy all of our best friends, while celebrating the best of 2010, honoring some of the best of all time, and getting excited for the upcoming 2011 season. I, for one, appreciate all of the time that these two gentlemen put in so that we all could have one helluva good time! Thanks Boyz!
