The Golden Marlins rode the complete game 7-hit pitching performance of Phil Gadomski, in a 9-2 victory over the Veterans Saturday afternoon at Swift Road Park. The Vets bunched three of those seven hits in the second inning, when they plated their two runs on a single by Gregg Smith, a double by Jon Atwell, and a single by Rick Face. "Mash" scattered just 4 other hits and one walk over his seven innings of work, while striking out two and moving his record to 2-0. The Golden Marlins got 3 runs in the first on a RBI double by Mike Ferarro and a RBI single by Jim McQuade. The Fish would plate 4 more in the second on a sac fly by Mike Girard, a RBI single by Ron Lochner, a bases loaded HBP of John Latorre, and a bases loaded walk to Jim McQuade. The Marlins would push the lead to 8-2 on a RBI single by Phil Gadomski, in the third inning, and Mike Clary would close out the scoring by driving in the ninth Marlins run with a RBI fielder's choice, in the top of the seventh. The Golden Marlins next face the Giants, in a rematch of last years finals, on Sunday at Swift Road Park at 2:00pm. It should be a good one!
