I was at a reunion over the weekend in Charlotte, N.C., with several of my buddies from back in our high school days and met Dick at the Wells Fargo Open at Quail Hollow on Saturday.
On Sunday, I went to his house for brunch, then we went to a local park for some battng practice with his son and future son-in-law. The guy can still swing a bat.
But more importantly, he really loves the Charlotte area along with the beautiful weather and pristine landscape. He has a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood and he has his HOF plaque prominently displayed on the east wall of his office room.
He does, however, really, really miss playing baseball in CDMSBL and all the comaraderie that goes along with it.
Dick wanted me to say hello to all and is hoping to come up for a few days of vacation during the summer.
