On Wednesday evening in great weather - the 54+ Division match-up between the Americans and Nolan Propane Cardinals resulted in a well played game with the Americans edging the Cards 6-5. Eddie Rogers went 5 good innings giving up just 6 hits with the Cardinals plating 3 runs in the 4th and 2 runs in the 5th, then Jim Kisselburgh closed down Nolans in the 6th and 7th for the save. John Latorre turned in a good effort on the mound for the Cards going the 7 inning distance giving up just 2 runs in the 1st and 4 runs in the 3rd. Ken Zimmer pounded out 3 hits, with Mike Labarge, Brad Buchan and Jim Wing coming up with 2 hits apiece for the Americans. Getting hits for the Cards were Frank Tarantino, Paul Watson, Dunbar, Read Shepherd, John Latorre and Harold Jenkins. Good camaraderie and good baseball between the teams made for a good night.
