The Reds used a 4 run 6th, to break open a tie game and go on to beat the Blue Jays 7-3 Tuesday night. Alex Marin had 3 hits, walked once and scored 3 times, just as the leadoff guys should. Joe Burns had 2 doubles and 3 RBI, including a huge bases loaded double in the 4 run 6th. Joe also went the distance on the mound scattering 9 hit and striking out 5, while walking none. For the Blue Jays, Mike Surin led the attack with a double and single, while 8 other hitters had a hit for a very nice Blue Jays team that is much better than their 2-7 record. Nice game guys.
Thanks Dave, Great game until the end. We knew it would take a lot to beat an outstanding team like yours and we almost pulled it off. I want to also mention that our pitcher John Weber pitched a great game and finally tired a bit in the 6th. Also a key play in the top of the 6th was a great throw from right field (Will Fergerson) to nail the potential go ahead run at home plate for the BlueJays.
Dave, you have a great classy bunch of guys who can play. Good Luck
