Pirates beat Shaskys

The Pirates beat the Shaskys by a score of 8-4. Tied at 3-3 after four innings, the Buccos scored one run in the 5th and four in the 6th to pull out the victory.
Any other round one results out there?

The Highlanders pulled a first round upset by beating the Padres 14 - 8. I don't have the book but the Highlanders pounded out 17+ hits in the game. Bill Hammel, Jack Griffin and Tim Danz are three of the best hitters that nobody talks about. Our #8 and 9 hitters, Dave Stroud and Lenny Rebhun each had three hits. Mike Aiello made some big defensive plays at 3B and Mark Marshall gutted out a strong complete game on the mound.

Hey Springtime - keep picking against us!!

The A's beat the Yankees 7-4 in the first game at Indian Meadows...
So now the only one we don'e have in is the Orioles v. Reds matchup, anybody know that outcome???
And when, where the heck are the second round games???

I was at the game, score was 1-1, I left. but The Orioles who have so many injuries on their team, were able to pull it off.. Reds go home.. Oriloels will play the Dodgers at BOB MOORE AT 6:30 on Monday, dont have any schedule after that for our team nor any other.. Hope it gets posted today..

Congrats to the Pirates, Orioles, A's and Highlanders!
Those one game playoffs are a scary proposition, and the Highlanders showed why.
That is why the Dodgers, Hummnbirds, Cubs and Nats pushed so hard all season long to get their first round byes. Now we need to get the scheduled times and sites for this weeks' quarterfinal games as soon as we can. We need to get the info out ASAP so that all of the players involved can make arrangements with work and family. We want all of the players to be on the field for each team, so that the best team wins!
Good luck to all of the final 8!!!
