I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all the gentlemen (and not so gentle) in the Capital District Men's Baseball League (I still hate putting in that senior) a very Happy Holiday season and to remind all of us to hold our kids a little tighter, give our wives an extra kiss on the way out the door and to just remember how lucky we all are to still be allowed to play this game that obviously menas so much to us. We have all been saddened to hear of the untimely deaths of our colleagues and the ill health problems of others. We surely will keep all of them in our thoughts and prayers. Perhaps we might try shaking hands before the games and saying hello to our old friends on the field and say nice to meet you to the new ones. It's hard to throw a rolling shoulder block on someone you like. (Sorry Mike!) So enjoy the off season (as much as one can enjoy a time without baseball) and let's look forward to the spring and the most joyous sound of all........... PLAY BALL!!!
