Great Scott

I just checked the bulletin board for the first time in a while to find out that Scott Card has a cardiac problem with some complications to spice up the fun. I am shaken by it, but I am reassured by one certaintly. If there is any one of us who can handle the challenge of keeping his spirits and his focus in the face of heart disease, it is Scott.

I am pulling for you, guy. I hope to see you on the field. Keep your batteries charged and don't forget to take your medication. Hey, how about the babes in cardiac rehab?

RE: Feeling very well...

Jim..Thanx so much for your concern...Things are working out very well..I had a Pacemaker put in..in November...They tell me I have Atrial Fibulation..The top part of my heart is beating way to fast..and the bottom can't keep...Thus the reason for the pacemaker..I'm on a few meds right now..and when all systems are go the Dr. wants to do a cardioversion procedure that will electric shock my heart back to normal beating patterns..Hopefully all this will be done by early March. Again thanx for your thoughts and concern..and I'm doing great and feeling fine...Scott

RE: Great Scott

Let's see, first Jim, then Kevin, now Scott. It must be the fearsome hitter's these guys face in the CDMSBL that has caused such havoc in the ranks of our pitcher's. Of course the only fear these guys have when I'm in the batter's box is that they won't be able to stop laughing. Hope to see all you fierce competitors this coming year. Good luck Scott, and if your in St.Peter's for any length of time let me know and I'll take good care of you. Just ask Kevin and Jim!

This is just great!!! Now I have to face another bionic pitcher like Ansel who seemed to throw harder than before and had a great year. If you start throwing harder and hitting
the ball any better I'll have retire for fear of getting hurt or get me some bionics.

Scott, get well and get back. I don't want see the nice guys like you be out of this league for long.

Great to hear that you are taking it all in stride. If there is any need to do something physical around the house, that you shouldn't be doing then call me. I will be glad to come over and shovel or lift something heavy. I'm sure that there is a line around the block to help you out, but I just wanted to put it out there. Don't be pig-headed and hurt your recovery by over straining yourself too soon.
We are all going to miss your presence while you are recovering, but want you to be 100% okay, before you try to do too much.
I think you said in an earlier line that you won't be playing this year. I hope that when you do come back to play that you will look into the possibility of rejoining Chris Elliott and myself by becoming a member of the Silver Marlins. I have already taken the matter up with John Reel and he would be thrilled to have you join us when you are ready.
Be Well!!!!!!!!!!

Scotty - I'm sure your sense of humor will speed the recovery. A good laugh will go a long way. Hang in there and visit us during the season - we can always use a chuckle or two... Best wishes for a speedy recovery back to baseball... If you're looking for someone to get a round or two in this summer, give me a call...

Scottie,
I am sorry to hear you are going through this thing as well and can't believe that similar problems have hit 3 pitchers in the same league in 1 year. I had a lot of support from guys in the league and I am sure you will also. If there is anything we can do to help you out, don't hesitate to ask like Mike Girard said. We are all here to help out. Hope you get well soon, and keep your chin up. If you want to talk, give me a call...862-5285.
Kevin
