Brian Musella and Reggie Flansburg knocked in 2 runs each, and the Whiz Kids came back from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Peppers 8-5 Monday night. Joe Fusaro (1-0) got the win with 3 innings of shutout relief. Chris Abrams had held the Peppers scoreless through 3 before they erupted for 5 runs on 6 hits and a hit batsman. Vince Koster of the Peppers left after 3 with a 5-0 lead, but the Whiz Kids scored 2 against the relief pitcher as Musella had his 2-out, 2-run single to bring them within 5-2. They took the lead for good with a 6-run 5th, highlighted by Flansburg's 2-out, 2-run single. A well played season opener for both teams. Good luck to Mike Hart and the rest of the Peppers.
