On a perfect day for baseball Sunday at New Scotland, the Braves beat Shaskys 11-1 on another solid pitching performance by Mark Denicola and some excellent defensive play. Mark went 6 innings, giving up just 3 hits and 1 walk to a solid Shaskys line up, keeping his ERA at zero after two starts this season. The Braves played good defense all around, including some gems by Joe Kosek and Dan Maguire in the outfield. Shaskys loaded the bases in the 7th off of reliever Daron McNab and scored their only run, but a slick double play by Don Rogers at third ended the game. The Braves had another balanced offensive attack with 8 different players contributing hits.
Next up for the Braves will be a make-up game against the defending champion Giants on Memorial Day.
