The 38+ Orioles are looking for the final piece of the puzzle. The team has been in the league for two years and has made it to the semi finals in 2004 and the finals in 2005. Looking for that one special pitcher to put them over the top.

Okay, Stark. So that's how it's going to be.

The Pirates, too, seek a special player . . . to bring beer and charcoal to our post-game, er, strategy sessions. What we really need is a guy with a boom box and a strong 60's collection. Would give special consideration to single player who favors a revolving door of cheap, tawdry girlfriends (okay, sluts) -- we're mostly married and therefore reduced to shameless voyeurism. Ability to play baseball a plus, but not required.

DON'T FORGET THAT THIS PITCHER MUST HAVE A MUZZLE AND A TRANQUILIZER DART TO STOP MANAGER BEFORE BEING DISQUALIFIED FROM GAME.

I only respond to players who hit above .200; Jimmy I find your comment very entertaining as usual.

Hey, Herbie, cheap shot, unnecessary roughness, fifteen yards.

Since we're making personal comments: I know Dick Stark since I came into the league five years ago. While his teams have always been fiesty, they've also always been talented. Dick's personal on-field demeanor has always been calm, cool, collected.

I see what happened in the finals as totally out of character. Dick lost his temper, maybe his mind, and he paid the price. He spoke with the appropriate people afterwards, he regrets what happened, and he certainly does not owe any further apologies to the peanut gallery. He's a former commissioner who has given a lot to this league. In no way was that a defining moment in a long, distinguished CDMSBL "career." Everybody makes mistakes.

I'd play alongside Dick Stark anytime, anywhere. Except I don't think I pitch well enough to make his team. At this point, thanks to a few bloopers and bleeding grounders, I'm glad he'll even talk to me.

I second that JP, Dick is a good guy, deserves the respect.

Don't like the peanut gallery referral though.

I was just enjoying being a spectator on this one, but I just couldn't help myself.
I was there when Dick had his moment, and was one of those that was most negatively affected, but I in no way hold it against him. In fact, I am looking forward to playing alongside him in the trip to San Antonio this weekend. A true gamer that had one slip. Haven't we all! I know I have!
I took Herbie's comment as the joke it was intended to be and had a good laugh also. Good one Herb. Just don't dig in on that first at bat against the Orioles this spring.

Jimmy P. Don't be fooled by the wolf in sheep’s clothing. Dick blew up in the finals and threw away a great season. He may have spoken to the powers that be, but he never personally (face to face) apologized to his team. The remaining guys put together a great season and Dick threw it away for everyone. The finals are not the time or place to have a verbal battle of wits with the umpire. A former commissioner and "good" guy should know better. There is no excuse for his selfish actions.

Also, didn't he have a few good pitchers that were so disgusted at what happened at the finals last year that they are playing on other teams this year? They voiced their opinions on the bulletin board and I heard they were not invited back to play this year. I thought this league belongs to the players....I guess it really belongs to the managers. You are too quick to give Dick a second chance, yet he apparently doesn't believe the same. Maybe Dick isn't what he appears to be. If he is such a great guy, why would anyone want to leave his team? Better yet, why aren't they lining up to play for him? Look deeper guys.

Two years in the league with the guys he has and he hasn't won a championship yet. I think the Aging Orioles need a manager and not a pitcher. Dick left the +28 Orioles last year and they won the championship without him. What does that tell you? If you think so highly of Dick, invite him to play on your team. I hear he keeps great statistics, is an excellent recruiter, but not much of a player/manager. He should have been paying more attention when he played on the Peppers. He could have learned a lot from Mike Hart.

My apologies, Herb, I missed the joke. I'm probably overly sensitive on that issue. I'm also sorry if my comment gave this topic more life than it deserved. I meant to throw water on it, not fan the flames.

I don't think this bulletin board should the place for negative personal comments.

I'm backing away. Turning off the computer. Counting the days until Spring.

Carry on!

There is nothing like a good soap opera to increase the the number of hits on the website.

Comments good or bad about my character should be directed to me in person. The bulletin board exists to share ideas and opinions about relevant baseball topics.

Can we move on now?

Hey... wait a minute!!! The 38+ A's are looking for a pitcher, or pitchers as well!!! We are also looking for a guys to play 3rd, SS, 2nd and 1st. The team has been together 3-4 years now and we haven't made it to the big dance, BUT... we have a hell of a time during the games.

By the way, I hate to see the board being used for cheap shots. There aren't too many players in the league that haven't had a Billy Buckner moment they'd like to forget. The season is just around the corner, bury the hatchet, and lets have a good season!! Learn from the past and move on.

Perhaps if we continue to fan the flames by writing some more crap about me we can reach the 400 mark in views.

For those of you who are not aware you can send Ed or I a private e-mail by clicking on our names.

Let's keep it going so you can win the award at the end of the season for the posting with the most views. We can even name it after you.
