The USNY Mets are looking to fill a few roster spots for 2020. 2019, our first year as a team went pretty well - got to the semi-finals before Lex and crew out-pitched and out-hit us. With Mario Arduini becoming a civilian and a couple of "yea, I?ll play" year-long no-shows and a couple "I might not pla we'd like to add a few key guys to help solidify the team.
So, what are we looking for? Frank Thomas and Randy Johnson would be great but they?re busy. But in reality, the first and biggest attribute a guy can possess if he's looking to join the Mets............SANITY!!!!! If you were born in Crazytown or visit Crazytown often, the Mets (and the league in general) are probably not a good fit.
Examples of Crazytown Behavoir: ? Screaming at umpires (as you drive by their house). ? Looking for professional baseball scouts in the stands before each game. ? Giving baseball clinics to your teammates in the middle of baseball games ? Insisting you taught Tony Gwynn everything he knew about hitting
Out team T-shirts say, ?Shut up and Play Ball?! You get the idea!!!
Good guys, team players and good baseball players are what we?re looking for. A pitcher or two would be nice. A couple of infielders would be nice. A utility player would be nice. Being able to commit to at least 12 games a year would be nice.
