Albany Caps debut at Roy Hobbs

The first day of our Roy Hobbs debut started with a double header at the Red Sox Jet Blue training facility. In game one Johnny Weber pitched us through 6 innings (5 scoreless) giving up 5 runs in that 6 inning. Jimmy Preller finished the last 3 innings giving up 3 runs for the total of 8 for Dupage, Illinois. We had some really exciting innings but in a nutshell Jimmy Tesoriero, Pat Alston and myself had 2 hits. Steve Schaefer and Tim Borwick had a double and Shawn Martin and myself had a triple and with the help of a total team of patient hitters we scored 10 to start the tournament with a big W! The second game didnt go as well with the Salem/Pitt Warlocks from PA scoring 8 runs in the first 3 innings. We had only scraped up 5 singles from John Weber, Jim Preller, Mike Kocienski, Don Ball, and Tim Burns. A highlight was watching Don Ball pitch 3 scoreless innings from the 4th-6th. He faced 11 batters. But the damage was to early and we lost 11-1. Tomorrow we face a 2-0 New Jersey Twins team at the Minnesota Twins facility.
