Albany Capitals games 6&7

We had an exciting start to our single elimination part of the tournament facing the Tidewater Drillers from Southern Virginia. Johnny Weber completed 7 innings giving up 7 runs on 11 hits with one strikeout and 1 walk. Don Ball once again tied some middle innings together and Jimmy Preller closed it out. The Albany Capitals tallied 17 hits on the day. James Bradley, Borwick, Shawn Martin, Surin, and Burns each managed multiple hits for Albany Capitals. Borwick and Bradley each collected three hits to the Caps. In the bottom of the 9th it was 13-13 and with bases loaded Jimmy Preller managed a walk off walk to win the game. 14-13. We had the greats Don Wixon, Freddie Pidgeon and Brad Buchan in the stands!!
In game two we faced the 6th seed Aurora Islanders from Southwest Chicago. Jimmy Tesoriero completed 7 innings giving up 8 runs on 10 hits, 4 strikeouts and 4 walks. Jimmy Preller tied the middle innings and I closed. Tim Borwick, James Bradley, David Reed, and John Weber each collected one hit to lead the Caps. Jim Bradley continued his fence hitting stand up doubles for the third game in a row. But as the Islanders took an early 2-1 lead after 2 innings continued to chip away throughout the game, our bats couldnt string them together and our tournament came to an end with an 11-3 loss.
Now we will have our beach, pool/ hot tub day and enjoy Johnny Webers cooking throughout the entire day.
