The 55 Twins prevailed against the Peppers 7-0 at Bethlehem on Friday evening, July 17. Leading the way for the Twins were Tom King with 2 hits and 2 stolen bases and Wayne Nicholsen who recorded a 6 hit complete game shutout, his second full game victory in as many outings. The Twins played very well defensively, especially 3rd baseman Greg Briscoe, on a night where the ball seemed to carry very poorly. Matt Lawston led the Peppers with 2 hits. They have a guy who drives up for every game from Scranton, Pennsylvania. No lie. I forgot to ask him if he works for Dunder Mifflin. The Peppers are, to a man, gentlemen.
