Angels head to their 5th game Wedesday with a 3-1 record after being thumped by Paladin, 15-2, in Scottsdale.
Regardless of Wedbesday's outcome, Angels will make the playoffs, which begin Thursday at Goodyear Field Complex, home of the Indians.
Angels looked as though they'd take a 2-0 lead in the first. With two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Teddy Poleto rifled a shot headed up the middle, but the ball found the starting pitcher's glove to end the inning. Paladin came up with 4 in the bottom half of the frame, but the Angels didn't lose faith.
When the Angels rallied for 2 to cut the deficit in half in the third, life was restored - but not for very long.
Paladin put up a 5-spot in the fourth and the Angels fell flat. Paladin tallied 1 in the 5th and 5 more in the 6th to seal the Angels fate.
Next up is 3-1 Benwood, which lost to Paladin 10-9 Monday.
