I just checked in with Ronnie Mazz. for an update.
The 4th seeded Capitals trounced the 5th seeded Carolina Thunder 13-4. John Weber went six innings on the bump, with Mazz finishing up.
Sat. at 9:00 they will now face the top seeded Aurora Islanders for a chance to reach the final. Ronnie says the pitching is in pretty good shape, and they will start Jim Tessorio in the semi, with Ronnie available all day, when needed.
Watched the whole game. Web pitching well, Maz with a great close and a solid 2B ealier in the game. Boys hitting and scoring well. Hicks strong at SS with key POs and DPs and at the plate driving the ball - big base clearing 2B later in the game to help cement the W. Cortese handling well hit liners in the OF against a tough sky. Hallenbeck driving the ball for a key double and solid behind the plate helping Web and Maz look good. Muller stepping up with strong hitting for key base hits. Shawn Martin strong at 2B. Alston making infielders look good at 1B, hitting well and dancing around the bases. Manager Cortese picked up a good free agent from Bulgaria who is helping the team nicely. Tesoiero with a nice bouncing 1B over SS generating runs, ready to relieve and be available for the start on the bump Saturday morning. Assist Mgr - T Burns hitting well.
Boys will be going this morning at the Player Development Center (former Red Sox practice facility) ready to be playing well seeking to get to the afternoon final.
A Big Good Luck to them..........
