Board of Directors Report

I hope everyone is looking forward to the start of the 2021 baseball season. Your BOD's has been busy meeting via email to get the season started. There were no changes on the Board this year so it was very easy to get right to work. The first order of business was to approve a new umpires contract and the BOD decided to approve contracts with both the ENYU and CDUA Associations for the season and the next two. The 18 Division is in the last year of their umpires contract and will negotiate a new contract after the season. There will be a new age division in the CDMSBL this season. The new 62+ Division will begin with six teams. The 55 Division Americans, Peppers, Pirates and Cardinals will be allowed to enter as an existing 55 Team with anyone on their rosters from 2019 forward. Two additional teams were formed with age eligible players solicited from the other existing 55 teams and players who have not played in the league since 2018 or before. The Americans and Pirates will also continue as members of the 55 Division. The plan is for this Division to begin in May and play through August, avoiding conflicts with the 55 Division. A double elimination playoff tournament will be held in September. This Division will also have some age specific rules included. I will let the Managers and the Commissioner elaborate on that to their players.
The 18 Division season plan was also approved. This Division will consist of 7 Teams with a 21 game schedule plus a possible three rounds of a playoff schedule. The 33Division Season plan was also approved. This Division will also consist of 7 Teams with a 24 game season planned plus playoffs.
The biggest Division will again be the 45 Division with 11 Teams playing an 16 game regular season schedule. The playoffs for the bottom 5 ranked teams will be a double elimination tournament with the top two teams moving on to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals, semi's and finals will all be a best of three contest.
The 2021 Matinee Division season plan was also approved.Right now Co-Commissioners Jim McQuade and Jim Konstantakis are planning a 17 game schedule beginning ion May and hopefully ending in October depending on the weather. There is a $30 entry fee per player for this Division with an individual game fee each time a player participates. At this time individual game fee is still $10 per player with the understanding that the fee may need to be adjusted during the season to meet the Divisions expenses.
The BOD is still waiting on the Commissioners of the 55 Division and Capital Division to present their season plans to the BOD but that is expected to happen very shortly and the Board will act on them in an expeditious manner.

Thanks for the update Bob! This is great information to share and after reading this I can't help but reply and say how grateful I am to be part of this great league. I mean what a lineup:

18 and over Division
33 and over Division
45 and over Division
55 and over Division
62 and over Division
Matinee Division on weekdays
Capital Division on weekends

I doubt that there are very many, if any other leagues in the country that can match what we offer for Men's Baseball. Kudos to John Reel and our Board of Directors for the addition of the 62+ Division this year!
