Kathy Nicholsen, Wayne Nicholsens wife, passed away yesterday in Florida. She had undergone major surgery last week in an attempt to improve her quality of life after suffering from a particularly harsh form of asthma for many years. Wayne had been her primary caregiver over the past few years. They were extremely close knowing each other since childhood. Services for Kathleen Nicholsen will be held on April 30 near their home in Greenville, N.Y., with burial the next day, May 1.
Wayne did mention to me that he looks forward to playing baseball in the 55s this coming season and feels that the experience will help him to manage the future a little easier.
Very sad news indeed. My condolences Wayne on the passing of Kathleen. May you and your family find peace and strength during this difficult time, remembering all the wonderful moments you shared together with Kathleen. Keeping you and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers. May her memory be eternal!
