Shut out in consecutive games and down 6, the 62 Pirates ask to take Rick Knipper (a very good base runner) off the bases so he can warm up to pitch. Not sure why, but the Peppers won't allow it, perhaps competitively to not allow him to get loose. Knipper takes the mound anyway and strings three scoreless innings. The Pirates score 6 runs in the bottom of the seventh to win! Knipper, winning pitcher.
