Wayne Nicholsen Tournament Report

I want to share a little information about my 55 Twins and 62 Arachnids teammate Wayne Nicholsen who has been playing in a couple of MSBL tournaments in Arizona over the past 2 weeks. In the 70+ World Series Waynes team, the Minnesota Bandits finished 6-1-1, good for second place. In the 65+ tournament, again with the Minnesota Bandits, they finished 5-2, good again for second place. In the tournaments, Wayne was a combined 9-20 at bat with 2 walks and was named MVP of his 65 team. He noted that the talent in both tournaments was extraordinary. Starting next week, Wayne will play in 3 consecutive tournaments in Florida beginning with a team from our own Albany CDMSBL. Obviously I am a big fan of the man. He always brings good things, tangible and intangible, to those around him.

Oops ! Additionally, the 70 and 65 teams Nicholsen played for in Arizona won the World Series in the American and Central Divisions respectively.

After helping the Albany Caps win a championship last week, Wayne picked up a win on the mound yesterday in the 70s for a team that had won only 1 game in their last 30 tournament games. Needless to say, it made a lot of baseball veterans very happy. His catcher was 75 and did not allow 1 passed ball.

Twins Wayne Nicholsen and Big Tom King finished up their week in the 65 Roy Hobbs World Series with a 2-4 record, the elimination game being against the team that ultimately won it all. Wayne was solid at third, at the plate, and on the mound playing the final 2 games with a strained quad . King went 12-25 with no strikeouts in the 6 games. Thank you for representing CDMSBL so well gentlemen !
