The Cubs pounded out 22 hits in beating the Pensacola Barracudas 25 - 13, on Tuesday afternoon.
Jack Griffin, Andy Hoyle and Jim Hicks led the way with 3 hits each. Mike Girard, Bob Bolt, Darrell Duncan, Tim Brown, and Ralph Caputo all chipped in with two hits each.
Meanwhile, Andy Hoyle pitched the first 3 innings and gave up just 1 run. TJ Scorsone pitched the next two innings, but got into a jam in the 6th. Jon Martin came in and put out the fire in the 6th and covered the 7th for the Cubs as well. Jim Hicks pitched a perfect 8th and the game ended after 8 due to the mercy rule.
The Cubs are at 4-0 with just this morning's game against the 2-2 St, Louis Patriots to go before the playoffs start. Conserving pitching for the playoffs and getting completely ready to go is the main focus this morning. Lets go Cubs!
