The Arachnids came out of the gate with good promise taking a 3-0 lead into the 4th . In the bottom of the inning the Cards manufactured 2 runs on 2 hits, a walk, and an infield error. The sky fell on the Arachnids in the 5th as the Cardinals plated 5 runs on 6 hits, a walk, and an outfield error by yours truly. We all make errors but that doesnt eliminate the sickening feeling for the guy who knows he let his team down at the moment. Final score 7-3 Cardinals. Bill Chichester earned a complete game win allowing 8 hits, striking out 1, and perhaps most importantly issuing zero free passes. The Cards were led by Chichester, Jerry Hawkins, and Pete Zamory who all registered 2 hits, including 2 doubles by Zamory and one by Hawkins. The Arachnids had 8 hits with Stefan Koutsakis, Darrell Duncan, and Wayne Nicholsen getting 2 each including a double by Koutsakis. Spider pitchers surrendered 12 hits, 4 walks, and had 1 K. The Cardinals played errorless ball while the visiting team had 3.
