Angels 18+ take on Highlanders


Not a lot of 18+ division news here in the bulletin board but its been said to be the change you what to see in the world. Im not a eloquent as some so Ill just let the GameChanger recap do the talking. Of note however, father/son combo Dan (2 for 3, 3 rbi) and Jake (HR, 2 rbi) Hernandez combined for 3 hits and 5 RBIs and the elder now has recorded hits in the 18/33/45 and 55 divisions this season.

Colt Musella collected four hits in five at bats, as Albany Angels defeated New York Highlanders 16-11 on Friday. Musella doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and doubled in the seventh.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Albany Angels collected 17 hits and New York Highlanders had 12.

New York Highlanders opened up an early lead in the second inning when Jordan Van Slyck doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

After Albany Angels scored three runs in the top of the fourth, New York Highlanders answered with three of their own. Albany Angels scored when Jeremy Martelle, Jr doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Daniel Hernandez singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. New York Highlanders then answered when Van Slyck drew a walk, scoring one run and an error scored two runs for New York Highlanders.

Albany Angels took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Chance Herrington's sac fly scored one run for Albany Angels, Musella doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Hernandez singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

New York Highlanders scored five runs in the second inning. New York Highlanders's big inning was driven by a walk by Nick Amedore, a single by Ryan Gosse, a sac fly by Jonathan Van Slyck, and a double by Van Slyck.

Quinn Keller earned the win for Albany Angels. Keller surrendered three runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Amedore took the loss for New York Highlanders. The righthander surrendered eight runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Jake Hernandez started the game for Albany Angels. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out two

Albany Angels launched one home run on the day. Hernandez went deep in the first inning.

Albany Angels totaled 17 hits in the game. Musella, Kyle Lewis, David Crawford, Martelle, Jr, Dan Gilligan, and Hernandez all managed multiple hits for Albany Angels. Musella led Albany Angels with four hits in five at bats.

New York Highlanders saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Van Slyck, Pete Furey, and Gosse all had multiple hits for New York Highlanders. Van Slyck went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead New York Highlanders in hits.
