Great sticky night for baseball at friendly New Scotland last night. The Arachnids put four on the board in the top of the first but that seeming comfort zone did not last. The Americans chalked up 5 in the bottom of the inning to take a one run lead.
After a scoreless second inning the rest of the game belonged to the uber hobbled Arachnids as they tacked on 10 more runs while starting pitcher Stefan Koutsakis (5 innings) and reliever Darrell Duncan (2 innings) shut down the Americans the rest of the way.
Koutsakis, Duncan, Mike Aiello, Bobby Noto, and John Reel each had 2 hits for the Arachnids.
DOUBLES were the order of the day as the Spiders banged out 5, two for Aiello, one each for Noto, Koutsakis, and Jim Edelman.
Leading the offense for the Americans was the ever dangerous Mike LaBarge with 2 hits.
Arachnids win 14-5.
