Prayers ...

... as Lee County, Fla., primarily Fort Myers, recovers from the devastation caused by Ian.

Sanibel Island is no more; Times Square, the most popular area of FMB, obliterated. The death toll is mounting.

I texted with Randy Craft, who lives a bit north of FMB in North Port. 18.7 inches of rain with winds up to 157 mph. His house is surrounded by water. Probably no power for up to a week.

Streets are now rivers. People with jet skis, air-powered boats, kayaks, pontoons ... in streets recovering stranded residents, pets. Helicopters also air-lifting residents.

Yet, the tournament is still on - for now. Many players have lost their accommodations, including those of us booked to stay on Sanibel Island.

I'm sure we won't want to get in the way of all the extraordinary recovery efforts, so hopefully Hobbs will make the right decision - whatever that may be - in determining the status of the tournament.

Certainly an inconvenience, but nothing like that of those who live there.

Well said JK. It certainly does put in perspective the occasional ice storms we face in the northeast.
