The 62s third season got rolling on a chilly but clear evening at New Scotland field last night. Both teams had rather cold bats . The Americans had 6 hits and they all came in the 4th inning off lefty starter Kenny Wellington who was given one inning too many as he had held the home team hitless through 3. Lee Madsen picked up the win doing a fine job in relief. The Arachnids had 5 safeties. No extra base hits for either team. Americans pitchers issued 9 walks and the Arachnids 2. Leading the way for the home team was Mike LaBarge with 2 hits while Jim Wing had 2 for the Spiders. 4 errors for the Americans and 2 for the other guys.
