Cubs win semi final 13-0.

The Cubs romped over the Chicago Bay Warriors 13 - 0, to advance to the championship game of the Roy Hobbs World Series.

The Cubs rode the left arm of Bob Bolt and a sizzling hot batting order to punch their ticket to the Championship game of the
60+ Roy Hobbs World Series. Mr. Bolt was a wizard on the hill, shutting out a team that had scored 19 runs in their quarterfinal
playoff game the night before. He scattered 4 hits, 1 walk, and 1 HBP, while striking out 1. The defense behind Bobby was spectacular,
especially Jim McQuade in left field and Jerry Rosen behind the dish. Jim made two great catches in left field, in the first inning, keeping
the Bay Warriors scoreless until the starter could get settled in. Jerry Rosen threw out 2 runners in the first 4 innings, which shut down
the visitors running game completely.

The Cubs' offense got rolling in the 3rd inning plating 3 runs Tim Brown led off with a single, and Ron Massaroni walked. Bob Bolt singled
to provide the Cubs with their first run. After a fly out and a fielder's choice, Mike Girard singled to score Bolt. Dave Mitchell singled and
Pete Geanellis singled for a 3-0 lead.

One inning later, the Cubs would push the lead to 8-0. Tim Brown walked with one out to start the rally. Ron Massaroni singled and Brown moved to second.
An error and a HBP (Shawn Martin) gave the Cubs a run and lhe Cubs scored two more in the 5thoaded the bases. Jerry Rosen followed with a huge 3-run triple.
Girard singled and the score was 8-0.

The Cubs plated another 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th. A PJ Martone single, a John Cortese walk, and a RBI single by Ralph Caputo provided the Cubs with
their 9th run. Bolt hit a RBI fielders' choice, and a Shawn Martin single made it 11-0 after 5. The Cubs would push that number to 13-0 with two runs in the
6th.Girard doubled to lead off the inning, and Mitchell was hit by a pitch to put runners at 1st and 2nd withy nobody out. Geanellis and Martone followed with
RBI singles and the final score was 13 -0. The game was called due to the 10-run mercy rule after 7 innings, and the Cubs were headed to the championship game!
