Honoring a hero ...

Thursday March 21, 2024

If you haven't heard, an Army National Guard helicopter pilot and two others were tragically killed when there chopper crashed while monitoring the border in Texas.

Casey Frankoski is the niece of Tony Nardacci. His sister is married to Jim Frankoski. They reside in Rensselaer. Tony has played in our league for more than 20 years and is one of the best teammates you could ever hope to play with.

Casey's passing has rocked this city. Thousands will be in Rensselaer the next two days for her wake and funeral.

Please read her obituary at the following link: https://wjlyonsfuneralhome.com/tribute/details/5159/Casey-Frankoski/obituary.html#tribute-start

You will be inspired. Casey was an amazing young lady. I personally printed out copies of her obituary and handed them out to my JV baseball players at LaSalle as an example what they could do with their lives.

A memorial fund has been set up in her name to raise scholarship funds and keep her name in the local conscience for eternity. Please do what you can to help this foundation. The family and communities of East Greenbush and Rensselaer will be forever grateful.

All details regarding Casey are included in the obituary regarding todays wake, tomorrows funeral and the memorial fund. She was an incredibly talented young patriot who died while serving her country.

Again, the link to the obituary:

Thank you.

Thanks Jimmy for your post and to all that have reached out. My niece Casey was certainly a remarkable young woman a real go-getter and an inspiration to so many. Her passing along with her co-pilot John Grassia III of Rotterdam is a major loss for both families and to all of the people that knew them.

Contributions can be made in Casey's memory to the Casey Frankoski Memorial Scholarship Fund via Venmo or Paypal.
