As the season gets underway, we are trying to increase our presence on social media. We now have a facebook and instagram page dedicated to increasing exposure to the league and grow the league so we can all keep enjoying this great game as long as we can! As the season progresses if you have facebook or instagram please follow the pages (linked below)! If managers or others are willing to take some pictures throughout the season and email them to cdmsbl518@gmail.com we can highlight each division and continue to grow the popularity of the league. If you have any questions or suggestions, or something that might be worth posting please don't hesitate to email the social media email account cdmsbl518@gmail.com.
What's your motive? How do we know what you'll do with our stories, images or identities?
I checked the your ID on this site and you don't name yourself there, either.
This has all the stink of that other guy, Mason somebody, who didn't give his name either.
Both are "newbies." Both are in weird sales, and both want ID's.
Guys, don't out give your internet IDs to anyone from this site that you don't know.
To league and bulletin-board officials: I suggest anyone who, from now on, wants to post stuff here not be allowed to do it unless he or she puts a verifiable identity in the board's sign-in area.

My name is Dan Jones this will be my 10th season in the CDMSBL. I still play in the 18+ division and have played a few years in the 33+ division. I've also taken a few teams with players from the league to tournaments and attended multiple just as player. I don't stand to gain anything from running the social media accounts for the league. My name is not on the account because I imagine some day someone younger than me and more social media savvy will take over.
In the mean time I think it's a shame more people don't know about the opportunities the CDMSBL has for playing baseball in the capital district. Among other things, I want to see more engagement from current members (especially my peers in the 18 and 33 divisions). I believe there are a lot of ways to improve the overall experience of the players in the league and this is one way I feel I can help. Other MSBL Leagues are a lot more active on social media and see very high player engagement not just online but with things like beginning of the year/ end of year barbecue, home run derbies, all star games, golf fundraisers, buying league merchandise, Hall of Fame, etc.
If you don't want to share your stories or photos no hard feelings! I will continue to post updates on standings, pictures, milestones, and other league related things throughout the season. I hope you follow along and good luck in 2024!
The board has discussed increasing (or creating) our visibility with Social Media and have reached out to Dan Jones to work on it. We realized it was too late to start recruiting through social media for this season, but hopefully with the increased presence online, next year will have an increase in participation.
I will take these links and put them on the cdmsbl.com website as well.

There was already a page created years ago I believe by Q and I had volunteered to be an admin as well. It had almost zero activity but it should probably be deleted or some sort of message should be put on to direct people to the active site.
Dan Jones is a social media guru the go to guy for social media stuff , and volunteered to do this for the league. I commend him for giving up his time to develop some of
Our media outlets , Facebook , Instagram , X . As a board member we appreciate our members willingness to help where they can.
Johnny since you pointed out we had a Facebook page , maybe they can combine it or something, at least we will have some type of presence on social media

I have submitted pictures the last couple of years to the facebook page, sometimes they get overlooked by the Moderator.

I'd say let Dan do whatever he sees fit. I don't have any of the login info so someone will have to get that from Q. I had offered to help years ago and there was almost literally no activity so it could probably just be deleted. Occasionally I would get a notification there was a post to be approved but I'm sure I could have missed some.
Its all good everyone trying to help , making a presence on social media for the league is a good thing and the league invites innovation , any ideas people have please put forth so can be discussed and put into motion as well.
Anytime anyone volunteers to help us with Social Media platforms, he/she should always introduce themselves first before creating a post. I, for one, do not trust unidentified posts, and I know I am not alone, per Mike Hart's original concerns. It's not like we haven't been burned before. Social Media may be one of the most damaging inventions to our society, although the intent could have been one of the most valuable.
