Jim Dalton recently received the good news about his induction in the NYS HOF . Jim is a long time member of our league. Most recently he manages the 55+ and 62+ Pirates but often toes the rubber to represent the other end of the pitch speed spectrum with aplomb , frustrating many a wide eyed batter aiming for fences only to be grounded out. Jim manages always with an eye on getting players in the field. Often at the exclusion of himself. His selfless sportsmanship comes from the kind of person he is. Jim, perhaps prominently, is known capital district wide as a sports official extrodinoir. Local baseball has been rewarded by his commitment and that includes CDMSBL. He stepped up a couple decades ago to run an inhouse umpire group when circumstances left us short for a couple seasons. Later he was the president of the schenetady umpire association and has recruited many of our players to become umpires. He knows the game and teaches it both from the bench and in umpire training sessions. Jim will be inducted at the Hilton Garden Inn on November 10th 2024. He will be joined in this class by a prestigious lineup of Don Mattingly, Buck Showalter, and Yogi Berra. Maybe Jim wears his Red Sox cap that day!? Please join me in congratulating Jim for this high honor, I'm sure we'll have a large contingent there for him in November. John Reel CDMSBL President.

John and all of CD-MSBL: Thanks so much for the kind words! Our fraternity is like no other, and I feel that all the players and people associated with our great leagues, that I have come in contact with over the years, have a part in this unexpected honor! Thanks to all of you! jd
JD is the reason I umpired for some 15 years. His guidance and leadership (and a lot of patience) led to eventual assignments in regional high school varsity games.
But more importantly, if not for Jimmy D., the CDMSBL Hall of Fame would not have been within in reach. In my 3rd year in the league, JD gave me a chance to pitch when my first two teams would not. Thnx JD and congrats on your induction. Well-deserved.
Congrats Jimmy D!
Enjoy the night. It will be a memorable one. Mine a few years ago was a fun night. I'd love to be there to celebrate the night with you but unfortunately my Transplant team doesn't want me traveling yet or getting into big crowds. Again, Congrats

Thank you John Reel, and to all for all well wishes! I am humbled and honored to say the least. Each of you have a part in making this happen! Crafty - all the best in your recovery and see you down the road!
