I have to go back to bed because we have an 8 PM start at A Diamond tonight against the Yankees so here are the Cliff Notes from B Diamond last night. Mike Kane started for the Americans, Wayne Nicholson for the Arachnids. Arachnids struck first scoring one in the top of the first as Kenny Wellington singled home Stephen Koutsakis who reached with a single . Americans came back with two in the bottom of the second on a walk and 4 singles. 2-1 home team. Top of the third Spiders regain the lead scoring two on a walk, two singles, and a double by Wellington. 3-2 ballgame. Both pitchers knuckled down and there was not another run scored until the bottom of the seventh when Mike Kane who had walked came home on an infield error with 2 outs to tie the game 3-3. Extras. We got the eighth inning in and there was some hearty discussion about continuing, but the umpire decided to end the game and let it be a tie. Im not real fond of ties in baseball. 10 hits for the Arachnids, eight for the Americans, Ralph Caputo and Jim Porter each with two hits for the Americans. Wayne Nicholson three hits and Kenny Wellington two hits, including a double for the visitors.
