Reds 4 Hummingbirds 2 (38 over)

What a night for a game, cool and cloudy with a steady breeze at a soggy Bethlehem ballpark. Field conditions were marginal to say the least. It was good to finally play after a 16 day layoff. The Reds scattered 10 hits and scoring 3 runs in the 7th while the Hummingbirds spread out 6 hits through 7. Both pitchers had complete games with Mr. Latour having 4 k, 1 BB and Joe Burns 2 k, 1 BB. A fine effort was put forth by all.

I stopped by that game. Down the left field line a couple of forlorn geese were in attendance, looking at the leftfielder and wondering, "What's that guy doing in OUR marsh?" I'm not kidding.

Conditions were borderline, but given the circumstances it seemed best to muck through it, so to speak.

The Reds and Hummingbirds (I believe) worked on the field to repair some bad spots, and without their effort the game could not have been played. Nice job under boggy conditions, especially from Dennis Reuter.
