Closer than score looks

A little love for that ?other game?played Thursday night at the A..
The Yankees held off Mike LaBarge?s Americans, 4-0.
Americans kept looking for their bats, but somehow left them on the rack.
Best catch of the year, Lounello in center crossing and diving.
One steal rule should be eliminated.
Despite what some players say, we may be older but you are only a Geezer, if you allow yourself to become one.
This game was tense and close throughout.
Yanks are a solid team.
Should be a great final.

Its was a well played game. Its was a nail biter. Lous catch was a ESPN top 10 for sure. Great pitching and defense, both teams. The stealing rule is little leaguish, not MLB. Also having a CDMSLB board member as the home plate umpire is a conflict of interest in my opinion.

Regarding the one-steal per inning rule in the 62 Division.

It's there because we are NOT MLB. Catchers might throw out would-be stealers maybe 3 times a YEAR. MLB catchers might do that in one game.

Without the rule in the 62s, singles/walks are pretty much doubles almost every time. Some catchers don't even bother throwing to 2nd. And with a runner on 3rd, catchers NEVER throw down. Does anyone feel a sense of accomplishment stealing a base when you know there is no chance of getting caught?

I like the rule because it puts strategy into the game. Kinda like bunting: When do you and when don't you? Steal right away with no outs or save it? The rule also keeps the DP intact. I've seen more well-played games with DPs turned than before the rule was put in place.

Despite the rule, there are still many high-scoring games. Can you imagine if the rule was not put in place? I'd rather be in a 4-3 game than a 9-8 or 11-10 game any day.

I can go on-and-on, but there is support for the rule by many.

I think the rules water down the game..
Hit the ball to outfield grass becoming automatic hit is not my favorite either.
I see your point JK.
Ill go kicking and screaming to let the game be. But thats just me.

These modified rules, without a doubt, keep guys in the game. Some dont want them. Thats ok. The GMs will make decisions based on what they think is best for the division.
