The La La battery of Mike LaBarge behind the plate and Mike LaCouture on the mound kept the Cubs going as they worked diligently against a very ready Waterford team, although Ralph Marrero had Visa problems that caused him to get to the park late, Mike La C struggled with his fastball and curve (the five year layoff may have had somthing to do with it) throughout the game but Mike La B guided him to the Cubs second complete game in less than a week. (Ed Rogers had the 1st vs. the A's)
The Fordians put a nice inning together in the fourth when they scored the three runs with the big blow coming from their leftfielder Canuzo, a long double over the Cubs rightfielder Dave Shaver, to drive in two and the third on an error after there were two outs. The Cubbies scored 2 in the first, 3 in the second, 2 in the fourth and 2 in the sixth in the shortened game.

Jon Martin was a no-show for the game and his picture has be placed on several milk cartons...
