Giants v Whiz


The Giants and Whiz met at the A Diamond. The Whiz got things going in the bottom of the 1st. A single by Paul Graziano, a double by Gene Hallenbeck along with 2 walks and an error led to 2 runs. Bottom of the 3rd, singles by Graziano, Greg Mangione, Jim Hicks, a double by Barry Friedman along with 2 walks scored 5 more runs for the Whiz. The Giants got on the board in the top of the 4th. Singles by Rick Caruso, Justin Luciano along with a walk led to 2 runs for the Giants. Bottom of the 4th, singles by Jeff Friedman, Doug Reisinger, Hallenbeck, Mike Kane and Hicks led to 3 more runs for the Whiz. Top of the 6th saw the Giants add 3 more runs. A leadoff walk to Art Gianakos, along with singles by Luciano, Brendan Hogan, Joe Krause and an error by the 1st baseman led to the Giants runs. Bottom of the 6th saw the Whiz score 5 runs. Singles by Jeff Friedman, Reisinger, Barry Friedman, a double by Kane along with 3 walks and a hit batter completed the scoring for the Whiz. Pitching for the Whiz was Joe Burns who gave up 6 hits, had 1 K and 1 BB. Caruso and Luciano were 2-3 for the Giants. Three pitchers threw for the Giants, they combined to give up 15 hits, had 1 K, 8 BB's and 1 HBP. For the Whiz, Hallenbeck was 2-2 with a double, Kane was 2-3 with a double, along with Graziano and Hicks who were both 2-3, Barry Friedman was 2-4 with a double, Jeff Friedman and Reisinger were both 2-4. Final score Whiz 15 - Giants 5
