The Mohawks are now 2-0 in the 60+ Roy Hobbs World Series, although things looked bleak early on. The Mohawks fell behind early, trailing the Jays 61 after three innings as Lansings bats came alive with nine hitsincluding three doublesoff starter John Weber, who also hit two batters and walked another. The Mohawks got on the board when Jim Jasiewicz singled and scored on Ray Collettas double. In the fourth, Fort Oranges offense erupted, plating four runs on a walk (Colletta), singles from Freer, Bradley, Gougler, and Koutsakis, plus a Blue Jay error. A scoreless bottom of the fourth from Weber kept the game close at 65. Fort Orange surged ahead in the fifth, scoring five runs with singles from Whitehead, Jasiewicz, Freer, Koutsakis, and Arbour, and a double by Tesoriero. The Mohawks added two more runs in the sixth and three in the seventh, fueled by singles from Whitehead, Alkalay, Freer, Colletta, Gougler, and Arbour, along with walks to Jasiewicz, Alston, and Koutsakis. Mohawk reliever Ricky Fleurant held the Jays to just one run over three innings, scattering four hits. The seven-inning, time-shortened game ended with Fort Orange on top, 177.
