On a day that had weather, the 'Murikans (GWB) came to the park ready to play. The Cubs came out a wee bit flatish.....like pancake....that got run over by a furniture delivery truck. It weren't pretty but the Cubs hung on to win as Mike LaBarge's guys scored two in the 7th (to make it 5-3) and threatening to score more with two on/two outs but a popup happened behind the plate - juego terminado!

Highlights:

Cubs:
- Cubs player of the game - Ron Massaroni pitched a CG, added a single
- Chris Dunn 3 solid hits (one being a triple)

Americans:
- Dave Plew held the Cubs in check allowing only two runs in 4 innings(or possibly 5 innings...the memory isn't great - either way, nice work by Dave)
- Vince Koster 2 hits
- Mark Finelli 2 hits
- Crafty lefty Jeff Martin, played a great game in the field, had a hit and threw well (picked off a couple of Cubs at first base).

Rubber match tomorrow (wait, nope....game 2 tomorrow night at 6pm).
